The Teeth in a Day (All-On-4™) Dental Implant Procedure uses four implants. This treatment is attractive to those with dentures or those in need of full upper and/or lower restorations. Qualified candidates receive four implants and a full set of new replacement teeth in just one appointment. With no bone grafts!
Teeth in a Day is a system that has been developed for patients having a full denture permanently retained on one or both arches. At Pinnacle Oral Surgery Specialists, our doctors can help your fixed denture device feel and function like your natural teeth by securing your prosthesis to the bone. Patients with this system will not experience dentures that shift, rock, come loose, or have the potential for embarrassment, because they stay where they belong, in your mouth. Working with our team, we can evaluate your oral cavity, review digital x-ray images and design a treatment plan that is specific to your needs. Depending on several factors, your denture can be permanently secured using four to six implants on each arch.
A dental implant is a titanium metal medical grade dental screw. We use it to serve as a permanent post in your mouth. Once the post is stabilized into the bone, it can be used to attach dental prosthetics to. In some implant procedures, there are some preparatory steps, such as a bone graft, followed by a period of healing of the bone tissue. For patients having a fixed denture stabilized, we offer a system known as Teeth in a Day, meaning that the entire placement of implants and the prosthetic denture is done all in one procedure in one day. This is also known as immediate load dentures, implant anchored dentures, or fixed dentures. Following surgery, the patient will still need to use caution in the foods they eat while the bone heals, but the difference between retained dentures and loose dentures will be significant.
Before and Afters
Loose Traditional Dentures vs. Teeth in a Day
Traditional dentures are held in place with suction and the assistance of a store-bought adhesive. Patients who wear dentures with this system rarely find them to be comfortable or functional. Loose dentures are known to move, rock around, cause sores on the gums, get food trapped beneath, and most frightening of all, come out. This can all be a huge problem for the denture wearer.
Fixed dentures that have been retained with dental implants are either non-removable or retained through a clasping system, allowing the wearer to remove their denture by their choice for cleaning. This stability means the patient will have increased comfort, be more used to their device allowing for better speech and chewing function, and increased confidence in their device staying in place. Teeth in a Day implants have a very high rate of success, more than 98% of wearers find success in treatment, making it the most successful dental restoration of all treatments.
Teeth in a Day may not be the right option for everyone. Success for this treatment relies on the patient's ability to heal properly. Though treatment can be very successful for medically delicate patients; they do need to be able to heal. Patients who smoke tobacco, suffer from uncontrolled diabetes, are receiving cancer treatment and take certain medications may be suffering from difficulty in healing. Working with your physician, we may be able to work out a plan to increase healing and then proceed. The more medical information you share with us, the increased chance of successful implantation.
