Modern Technology Improves All Aspects of Oral Surgery
Oral surgery and dentistry in general has advanced rapidly over the last few decades alone. To go along with these advancements, we as healthcare professionals have had to adapt to include new and better technologies to support our advanced procedures. At Rockwall Oral Surgery we have invested in the most state-of-the-art dental technology to give our patients accurate and effective dental treatments. These technologies are used in all aspects of our practice and make your treatments more successful and easy.
Our Dental Technologies
- 3D Cone Beam
This technology is used to capture detailed 3D images of your mouth, head, and jaw. We are able to identify many important aspects of your jaw, including jaw bone volume, location of nerves, tooth root positions, and the health of teeth in general. Often, we use this technology in combination with our CAD/CAM software to help digitally plan dental implant placement.
- CAD/CAM Technology
This digital computer software allows us to plan treatments with computer precision before beginning the actual treatment. Often used for dental implants, we are able to identify the precise angle and depth to drill so that your dental implant is in the ideal position every time.
- Digital X-rays
Digital x-rays allow us to capture detailed images of your mouth. By using digital technology, we significantly reduce the amount of radiation you are exposed to and the results come back immediately. We are able to pull up your x-rays right on our computer screen just after taking them so our team and you can go over the findings.
- Intraoral Cameras
Intraoral cameras are small hand-held scanners that capture images of the mouth, jaw, teeth, and surrounding structures. These are minimally invasive and display images directly onto a computer screen for both you and our team to review. This is often a great tool to use to help you understand your problems and how our solutions can help you feel and look better.
