Which Sedation Is Right for the Procedure?
With inhaled gas or medication, sedatives help patients stay at ease throughout their procedure. We offer several different levels of sedation which gives patients options to suit their specific needs:
- Minimal Sedation: With this sedation, patients are entirely conscious but also completely relaxed.
- Moderate Sedation: Patients are still conscious but in a much drowsier state. It is not uncommon for patients using moderate sedation to experience some amnesia, unable to remember parts of the procedure.
- Deep Sedation: Deep sedation keeps patients right on the brink of consciousness. They may even fall asleep during the procedure.
- General Anesthesia: Patients are kept asleep throughout the strongest form of sedation.
